We had a thoroughly enjoyable and productive week delivering the Proqual Level 5 Diploma in Crime Prevention – Designing Out Crime to candidates from City of London and Kent Police. We were joined by some great guest speakers from the City Planning department, the British Research Establishment and a firm of local architects who provided a site visit to one of the City’s iconic buildings to see how designing out crime is practically applied to a refurbishment. This had the bonus of seeing the London skyline from the proposed roof garden.

In the next few months we will be returning to London in order support the candidates with additional sessions in the City, as well as online sessions throughout the progression of the diploma, ensuring that the students are fully prepared for the assessment phase.

Our thanks to the City of London Police who provided the training venue, their ongoing support throughout the event and to their Designing Out Crime Officer, Ford Keeble, who gave us the benefit of his experience throughout the course.

We look forward to working with the City of London Police again in the near future.
